Prepping/Organizing can be a daunting task. When you have a bunch of different items, all stored in one place it can quickly become a cluttered mess. Finding something amidst the chaos can be near impossible, let alone keeping an inventory so that you know when that bottle of Tylenol somewhere near the bottom of the pile expired.
I have a solution for both!
Do you have cats? How about a neighbor/friend/family member with cats? One of the best solutions I have found for storing small items together is Cat Litter Containers like this one below:
Cat owners are frequently recycling these, and with a little searching out an owner getting rid of them, you could get a steady supply of free buckets to store your preps! They work great!
Now that you have a few containers, and you’ve crammed them full of your goodies, how do you know what items are in which container? Inventory. Ugh, I know it sounds terrible, but it’s easy!
Get yourself a few of the 3-ring binder clear sheet protectors and tape them to the side of the bucket. You can then clearly see the contents, when they were added, and when they expire, without even opening it!
Oh, and as for the inventory, we’ve made that easier too! Do you see that snazzy checklist we have on our bin there? That was created for FREE using the Preparedness Checklist Generator here at Survivehive!
The checklist generator has a few suggested checklists, with some suggested items to store. You can even add your own custom items to the list before printing, or deselect a suggested item if you do not want it!
It’s simple and free, and will make your life much easier!
Do you have a suggestion for a new checklist type, or items to add to the checklists? Let us know in the comments!
I hope you enjoy your new found storage solution and your freedom from prepper-clutter!
